Going Green Is Good For Business

Going green (recycle all you can, reuse  things and try and use less in general) is a good idea for all of us. Everything is are getting more expensive every year so the less we use the less we spend and if we can recycle an item it saves money on fees to dispose of it. My kids know all about recycling and if you throw anything in the trash that could have been recycled they will let you know it.

Green Business’s Thrive
There are now enough people who want to go green whenever they can that it can directly affect your business.  So what can you do to bring those customers to your business

  • Go green and mean it
  • Let people know it

You can not just pay lip service to this, you must be the real deal and stick with it. Just having some recycle bins around the office is not enough. Ask people in your company for ideas on how you can use less materials and less electricity, implement the suggestions and measure them if you can. Once you see how much money you are saving let everyone know.

Weigh how much paper you recycle (doesn’t need to be exact) and mention it on your company blog, ask your webmaster to put a recycle logo on the website and write a statement about your commitment to saving materials from the landfill and saving energy.

You can also help others help the planet

  • Sponsor a tree or a few trees to be planted
  • Sponsor a class at a local school to do something for earth day
  • Buy recycle bins for others to use
Let People Know
Don’ be shy about  your companies accomplishments, tell the local papers what you have achieved if you can get a photo opportunity with the mound of paper than would be in the landfill but is now in the recycle process it will look good in the paper and across your social networks.
Going green is a good thing for any company, you can save money while helping save the planet and if you can get some positive press and gain customers in the process isn’t that even better?
